We were recently asked by our customer LUUP Payments to design and create a display system for them to take to the ICE Total Gaming Conference the was held at the Excel area in London in February.
Create a unique, bold display graphic that would incorporate the brand elements and character (we call him Luupy!). The should also be portable enough to transport to and from events and be easy to store but please not a roller banner!
It was important to the client that the unit was easy enough to transport so we first looked at materials that would be sturdy but lightweight for transport. We decided on using Stadur, a light foam centre sheet with a dual sided hard PVC coating that was perfect for printing directly to. We chose a 19mm thick sheet as we felt this would give us the best strength and would also give us the best depth of effect when cut. All the elements were cut to shape using a flatbed cutter ensuring a perfect cut and precise finish.
We wanted to make a feature of Luupy as we felt the character had a strong presence. Rather than just having him on a flat sheet, we decided to offset him from the backboard with 38mm foam mounts to create relief. We also did this with the logo section and the speech bubble that would be tailored to suit the message the client wanted for this specific event.
To ensure the graphic was sturdy, we drilled fitting holes to the bottom of the backboard to allow the graphic to be fitted with an aluminium M footer when delivered to site. All components were able to be broken down flat for transporting and storage. They could then be fitted to each other through Velcro attachments making it easy for the staff attending the exhibition to put the display together.
