About the role 

As we continue to grow, we are looking to welcome a talented in-house Graphic Designer to our team. If you bring industry knowledge, professionalism, and a shared passion for print and paper, we believe you could be the perfect fit!

As part of our in-house team, you’ll be responsible for preparing clients artwork files for print as well as flexing your creative muscle to produce print ready artwork from scratch for a variety of brands and organisations from wide ranging sectors; bar & restaurant, drinks industry, charities, health, hair & beauty, education organisations, holiday companies, retail, and some household brands that you’ll definitely know!

An ability to work from a client’s brief is essential as is the ability to adhere to brand guidelines when required too.

You should be confident working efficiently on your own but will also be expected to work closely with the rest of the team to discuss ongoing projects and develop products during workshops.

Additionally, you will also be responsible for the creation and development of our own Company branding as well as the design of online and print collateral. 
This role would be best suited to someone with 1-2 years’ experience working in a design for print environment and that is keen to contribute, collaborate and develop within a fast-paced creative company. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Preparation of client supplied artwork files for print 
  • Production of print ready artwork to brand guidelines 
  • Creation of design concepts from brief
  • Creation and development of in-house design for print and online 
  • Prioritising tasks and managing time 
  • Managing client files and assets 
  • Collaborating with internal production team and external resources and suppliers 
  • Assisting in the development of the company’s product and service range 
  • Print product development and prototyping 
  • Use of the company print MIS to manage workflow and record information 
  • Operation of in-house digital print presses 

Successful candidates should have: 

  • Sufficient and appropriate experience in the role of Graphic Designer, preferably in the print industry 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Good time management and organisational skills 
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Good task tracking abilities and be able to work to tight deadlines 
  • A passion for design and follow current trends and styles, keeping up to date with new developments and techniques in design software  
  • Full working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite; InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop are the tools of our trade 
  • Good knowledge on printing processes and creating / setting up artwork for print 
  • Good problem-solving skills  
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal 
  • Competence working alone or collaborating with others 
  • An appetite to learn and develop your skills to better your role  

Preferred but not essential skills or experience:

  • A higher education qualification in a design/print related subject 
  • Previous experience using Fiery Command Workstation, Onyx and Colorgate RIPs 
  • Have operated a small format digital print press or large format ink jet printer 
  • Worked with print finishing equipment
  • Colour management skills 
  • A working knowledge of MS Office 365
